Here are a couple of items to keep in mind:
1- PRICING💵: Real estate agents have current market knowledge, experience, and pricing strategies that will help you sell your house faster and for more money. FSBO (for sale by owner) sellers might price the home too high, meaning it could take months to receive an offer. On the other hand, they could price it too low and leave money on the table. More than 80% of FSBOs fail to sell their home successfully.
2-EXPOSURE🗣️: Only Realtors are allowed to market homes for sale in the MLS, if you decide to sell FSBO, your home will not show up on the MLS. Why is that a big deal? Well, the MLS is the first place most Realtors start when looking for homes to show prospective buyers and from here all listings get distributed to all other websites like Realtor.com, Trulia, and Zillow. If you are not on the MLS you are reaching a very little percentage of buyers in the market.
3- NEGOTIATION & CLOSING🤝:There’s a lot of paperwork, negotiation, and people involved when it comes to selling your home. From dealing with buyer’s agents, inspectors, appraisers, lenders, and title companies to handling and negotiating offers and making sure everything turns out most favorably to you. At the end of the day, a REALTOR’s job is to put your interest first.
Ultimately, you’re better off hiring a professional with the skills, knowledge, and resources to set you up for success in your sale. A good REALTOR®️ will be worth every penny.
